This module is actually composed of three "mini" modules. The first two parts review common physical modalities and procedures. Most of these parts will be done in an actual physical therapy clinic:
  • Physical Modalities:
    • Thermal agents:
      • Hot packs, diathermy.
      • Cold packs, ice baths, ice massage, spray & stretch (vapocoolants).
    • Electrical agents:
      • Microcurrent, TENS, Interferential, electric muscle stimulation (Russian).
      • Cranial electrotherapy stimulation (CES).
    • Mechanical agents:
      • Ultrasound, traction, etc.
  • Physical Procedures (Active):
    • Standard exercise regimens
      • Core exercises, Swiss ball, plyotherapy, therabands.
    • Specialized exercise regimens
      • Pilates, Yoga, Feldenkrais, Alexander techniques.
      • Underwater treadmills & aquatic therapy.

The final part will look at malpractice laws, ways to defend your practice and finally, how to prepare as an expert witness.
